Project Description

Reclaimed Timber Dining Table

244 cm (L) x 90 cm (W) x 78 cm (H)

Oak and Elm

The first of two commissions using reclaimed timber. The client that commissioned the dining table was converting an old watermill in to a family home and wanted to use the timber removed as a way of retaining the history and character of the former building in the new house. Although quite large it has proved to be great for both every day family dinners bringing the family together and providing a wonderful entertaining space able to cope with a Christmas party of 30 people.

The table top is made using old elm beams and the pedestal legs are oak with curved details on the feet mirroring the traditional construction methods of the watermill. The large curved section under the table was designed to offer maximum leg space and invoke memories of the waterwheel removed from the room in which the table is situated.
